Position Overview
The Building Contracts Manager will oversee all aspects of building projects, from inception through completion, ensuring contract compliance, quality, cost control, and programme targets are consistently met.
The ideal candidate is a highly organised, results-driven professional capable of managing multiple projects, leading teams, and maintaining strong client relationships within a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee multiple building projects simultaneously from start to finish
- Administer and enforce construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and legislation
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate project teams including site managers, engineers, and subcontractors
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve issues and maintain positive working relationships
- Prepare reports, updates, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Implement best practices for project execution, cost control, and quality assurance
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the building construction industry
- Proven experience in a Contracts Manager role
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project management principles, and site operations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Solid understanding of construction legislation and health & safety regulations
