Position Overview
The Building Site Engineer will be responsible for managing on-site construction activities, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to specification. The role involves coordinating subcontractors, interpreting technical drawings, supervising daily operations, and liaising with project managers to ensure all project goals are met.
The ideal candidate is practical, detail-oriented, and highly organised, with hands-on experience in site engineering and construction project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage on-site construction activities from start to finish
- Ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel effectively
- Interpret construction drawings and project specifications accurately
- Monitor daily progress, report deviations, and implement corrective actions
- Support project managers in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Maintain site safety standards in line with legal and company requirements
- Conduct regular inspections and provide technical guidance to the site team
- Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and programme
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Building, BTech in Construction Management, or equivalent qualification
- 3–5 years’ practical experience on building construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, site supervision, and project workflows
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and construction legislation
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
