We are looking for a Senior Operations Manager to oversee multiple stores in Durban, driving profitability, operational compliance, and team development.
Position Overview
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Operations Management System across allocated stores. The role focuses on achieving sustainable profitability, operational excellence, brand compliance, and people development, while ensuring all SOPs, food safety standards, and service benchmarks are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Performance & Profitability
- Manage and support all operational issues across allocated stores
- Drive turnover growth, customer count growth, gross profit, and overall profitability
- Ensure cost control on food, labour, and operational expenses
- Monitor and improve service efficiency using performance-based metrics
SOP, Quality & Compliance
- Maintain food quality as a top priority
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, policies, and operational standards
- Maintain brand audit, food safety audit, and mystery shopper scores above benchmarks
- Implement corrective actions from audits and compliance risks
People Management & Leadership
- Plan, lead, and control store management teams to meet or exceed targets
- Coach, mentor, and develop Store Managers and teams for improved performance
- Drive engagement, reduce staff turnover, and build high-performing teams
- Oversee onboarding, training, and performance management
Customer Experience & Brand Standards
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction across all channels
- Monitor and resolve customer complaints in a timely manner
- Drive positive digital ratings, QR survey participation, and Net Promoter Score metrics
- Uphold Pedros’ leadership principles, values, and customer-focused culture
Reporting, Administration & Communication
- Prepare, analyse, and review weekly and monthly operational reports
- Ensure accurate KPI reporting on audits, financial performance, and action plans
- Maintain effective communication with stores, management, and support teams
- Support marketing plans, promotions, and operational initiatives
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Like-for-like turnover and customer growth
- EBITDA and gross profit % targets
- Brand audit, food safety audit, and mystery shopper scores
- Service speed and delivery metrics
- Customer complaints ratio and digital ratings
- Staff and management turnover rates
- Delivery aggregator uptime and performance
Minimum Requirements
- Qualification in Operations, Marketing, Business Development, or Business Administration
- Franchise and/or corporate multi-store experience
- GAAP / Micros system experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a multi-store operator or similar role
- Proven ability to manage multi-site operations in a high-volume environment
- Valid driver’s licence; own vehicle preferred
- Willingness to travel regularly and support operational needs outside standard hours
