Our client, a high-growth telecommunications and retail group, is seeking an experienced Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead national operations, optimise business performance, and drive commercial profitability across multiple channels including retail stores, direct sales, and digital platforms.

Position Overview

The Group COO will oversee all operational and commercial functions of the business. You will lead a national team, ensure consistent operational excellence across retail and digital channels, and take full accountability for the company’s profitability, P&L performance, and operational growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee operational and commercial P&L across multiple business channels
  • Drive revenue growth while maintaining strong margins and cost control
  • Manage a national retail store network, ensuring operational standards and consistency
  • Lead performance across direct sales, prepaid, postpaid, and fibre channels
  • Integrate and optimise digital, call centre, and B2B operations
  • Implement operational dashboards, reporting frameworks, and forecasting tools
  • Manage payroll ratios, commissions, and cost-to-income performance metrics
  • Oversee inventory control, stock optimisation, and shrinkage prevention
  • Ensure compliance with all operational and regulatory standards

Minimum Requirements

  • 10–15 years of senior leadership experience in retail, telecommunications, or consumer-facing commercial operations
  • Proven experience managing multi-site retail environments
  • Strong ownership of P&L and demonstrated EBITDA accountability
  • Deep financial acumen, including margin management, working capital, and operational metrics
  • Experience in telecommunications, retail, or high-volume consumer sectors
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and operational execution skills
