Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our team in Rustenburg, North West. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient management of all stock related to mining operations and exploration drilling equipment.

The successful candidate will manage stock levels, coordinate with suppliers, conduct audits, and implement control systems to optimize inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control stock levels of mining operations and exploration drilling equipment
  • Monitor and track stock movements, including inventory in and out of the warehouse
  • Conduct regular stock audits and implement corrective actions for discrepancies
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of stock
  • Collaborate with departments to forecast stock requirements and maintain optimal levels
  • Implement and maintain stock control systems and procedures for efficiency and accuracy
  • Identify and report slow-moving or obsolete stock to minimize inventory costs
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in relation to stock management

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric Certificate
  • Diploma or relevant qualification in supply chain, logistics, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Stock Controller in the mining industry, with expertise in exploration drilling equipment
  • Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and compliance standards
  • Experience handling hazardous materials
  • Proven experience in supply chain management, inventory control, and logistics
  • Strong understanding of mining operations and exploration drilling equipment
  • Practical experience with mechanical parts and vehicle components

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in Inventory Management Systems (e.g., Pastel Evolution)
  • Strong technical knowledge to identify, categorize, and manage mechanical and drilling parts
  • Analytical skills to monitor usage, forecast demand, and prevent shortages
  • Compliance awareness ensuring adherence to mining safety and audit requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
