This opportunity is based at the Chris Hani Crossing store, a new retail location in Vosloorus, offering candidates the chance to be part of a store launch team and grow within a fast-paced retail environment.
Position Overview
The Frontshop Assistant will be responsible for executing merchandising standards, maintaining stock levels, and delivering excellent customer service. The role focuses on ensuring shelves are fully stocked, products are properly displayed, and store operations run smoothly in line with The Local Choice Corporate Stores policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Restock merchandise to ensure maximum product availability and sales
- Ensure stock from the storeroom is packed and stored correctly and timeously
- Apply FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to manage stock rotation
- Monitor and remove expired or damaged stock, reporting issues to management
- Maintain fully stocked shelves with correct pricing and labels
- Assist with stocktaking, cycle counts, and inventory control
- Ensure merchandising displays are properly built, stocked, and maintained
- Keep storeroom and shop floor clean, organised, and compliant with standards
- Assist with loading and off-loading of stock when required
- Handle merchandise carefully to minimise losses
- Provide friendly, helpful, and professional customer service
- Resolve customer stock queries efficiently
- Assist with training of new and existing team members
- Adhere to all health, safety, and company policies
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 0 – 6 months retail experience
Advantageous:
- 1 year retail experience
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and FMCG industry
- Ability to work with planograms and product categories
