Position Overview

The National Training & Business Development Manager – Chanel South Africa is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for implementing and managing a national training strategy across all stakeholders.

This position focuses on enhancing product knowledge, client experience, and retail performance, while driving sales growth through training, coaching, and business development initiatives. The role requires extensive travel and active field engagement, with approximately 70% of time spent on training delivery and coaching.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Training Implementation

  • Develop and implement national training strategies aligned with brand objectives
  • Deliver training through classroom, virtual platforms, and on-counter coaching
  • Enhance product knowledge and customer service standards across teams
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to drive overall business strategy
  • Organise client events, promotions, and workshops to boost brand performance
  • Manage training and travel budgets effectively
  • Coordinate national conferences and international training events

Communication and Mentoring

  • Mentor and coach Beauty Consultants (BCs) to improve sales and service delivery
  • Conduct performance assessments and implement development plans
  • Develop training materials, reports, and digital learning content
  • Implement CRM training programs and digital assessments
  • Inspire and motivate teams while fostering a strong brand culture

Administration, Reporting & Business Performance

  • Monitor store performance and identify growth opportunities
  • Analyse product categories (fragrance, skincare, make-up) for strategic insights
  • Track competitor activity and implement appropriate responses
  • Conduct store visits and evaluate training impact on sales performance
  • Ensure successful execution of events and promotional campaigns
  • Drive improvements in business processes and operational efficiency

Teamwork

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and retail partners
  • Provide insights on market trends, customer behaviour, and product performance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and brand standards
  • Maintain professionalism as a brand ambassador locally and internationally

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric plus ETDP qualification
  • Training or Learning & Development qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ training experience in the cosmetics industry
  • Retail experience in cosmetics (essential)
  • Experience as a Make-Up Artist
  • At least 2 years’ experience in training material development (Assessor & Moderator)
  • Strong leadership and coaching experience
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
