Position Overview
The Painter (12 Months Contract) role is ideal for individuals seeking artisan support jobs, maintenance roles, or entry-level industrial painting work in South Africa.
You will be responsible for surface preparation, painting, coating application, and maintenance work at the VKB Milling Mokopane site.
This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, physically fit, and committed to delivering high-quality finishing work in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation
- Clean, sand, and prepare surfaces for painting
- Fill cracks and repair surface imperfections
- Protect surrounding areas such as furniture and floors
Painting & Finishing Work
- Apply paint, primers, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Mix and match paint colours as required
- Ensure smooth, clean, and professional finishes
Maintenance & Safety
- Maintain painting tools and equipment
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Ensure safe working practices at all times
General Duties
- Complete work within set deadlines
- Work independently or as part of a team
- Maintain high attention to detail in all tasks
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12
Experience
- Relevant painting experience or training
- Proven experience as a painter (advantageous)
