Position Overview
RCL Foods is currently recruiting a Sales Representative to join its Baking Division in Benoni. This role is ideal for a driven and results-oriented professional with experience in FMCG sales.
The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing sales volumes, improving market share, and maintaining excellent customer relationships. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will play a key role in executing sales strategies and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Performance & Targets
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales budgets and volume targets
- Develop and implement monthly action plans per customer
- Conduct weekly performance reviews with agents
- Follow structured route plans for customer visits
Promotions & Merchandising
- Execute promotional plans to drive sales growth
- Implement a minimum of 4 product displays per month
- Manage in-store promotions and product visibility
- Ensure optimal shelf space and merchandising standards
Customer Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with store and regional managers
- Deliver excellent customer service across all accounts
- Identify new business opportunities and expand customer base
- Support customers and agents with sales solutions
Agent Management
- Conduct weekly communication and performance sessions
- Co-travel with agent sales teams to improve performance
- Identify gaps and implement corrective actions
- Ensure agents execute all marketing activities effectively
Reporting & Analysis
- Compile weekly sales reports including:
- Sales activity and performance
- Competitor analysis
- Sales volumes vs budget
- Agent and sales staff performance
- Provide insights on opportunities and challenges in the market
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Management (advantageous)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sales Representative in FMCG
- Valid Code EB (Code 8) driver’s licence
