Position Overview: Assessment Officer

Emeris Pretoria Campus is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assessment Officer to support all aspects of assessment administration.

This role is ideal for candidates with strong administrative experience who thrive in structured environments and enjoy working with confidential academic records, invigilators, and students.


Key Responsibilities

Assessment Printing and Tracking

  • Manage the Assessment Printing Tracking System (APTS)
  • Confirm assessment orders and student numbers
  • Check printed assessment crates and report discrepancies
  • Securely store all assessments and memos

Invigilator Coordination

  • Assist with invigilator recruitment and training
  • Schedule and reconcile invigilator reports
  • Log assessments in and out

Assessment Logistics

  • Prepare venues and documentation
  • Coordinate concession arrangements
  • Liaise with IT for computer-based assessments
  • Reconcile scripts and submit to the Results Centre

Assignment Processing

  • Set up SafeAssign and Turnitin submission points
  • Reconcile assignments and submission records
  • Manage late submissions according to policy

Assessment Escalations

  • Handle assessment-related queries during exams
  • Communicate resolutions to invigilators and students
  • Complete incident reports for non-compliance

General Support

  • Update student notes in the academic management system
  • Assist with graduations, open days, and campus projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Higher Certificate (NQF Level 5)
  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or higher is advantageous
  • Minimum 2 years’ administrative experience
  • Experience in a tertiary education environment preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
