Position Overview: Grade 4 Teacher (Class & Afrikaans)
Crawford International is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Grade 4 Teacher who will serve as both a class teacher and Afrikaans educator.
This role is ideal for passionate teachers who can create engaging lessons, foster meaningful relationships with learners and parents, and support students in their academic, social, and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
- Plan and deliver inspiring and differentiated lessons
- Integrate technology and inquiry-based learning strategies
- Create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment
- Provide academic and emotional support to learners
Assessment and Reporting
- Continuously assess learner progress
- Maintain accurate records on STASY and other reporting platforms
- Prepare reports and communicate learner progress to parents
Student Behaviour Management
- Establish clear classroom expectations and routines
- Support learners with barriers to learning
- Collaborate with parents and specialists when required
School Brand Ambassadorship
- Promote the values and ethos of Crawford International
- Participate in school events, open days, and extra-mural activities
- Contribute articles to newsletters and social media
Administration and Compliance
- Maintain classroom inventory and teaching resources
- Organize educational excursions
- Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 6) plus PGCE, or B.Ed.
- Qualification in Intermediate, Intersen, Senior, or Foundation Phase
- Valid South African Council for Educators (SACE) certificate
- Police clearance certificate
- Valid driver’s license
- 3–5 years of teaching experience
- Willingness to teach as a generalist
- Strong digital literacy skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Honours degree in Education
- IB PYP Training
- Experience with inquiry-based learning
- Knowledge of strategies to develop global competencies
