About the Showroom Manager Role

The Showroom Manager is responsible for the full performance of the retail showroom, including sales growth, team leadership, stock control, and customer service excellence.

You will be expected to lead a high-performing retail team and ensure that all operational standards are maintained in line with brand expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Commercial Performance

  • Drive showroom sales against targets and budgets
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance
  • Lead morning briefings and set daily sales goals
  • Coach staff on upselling, cross-selling, and conversion rates
  • Execute promotional campaigns and in-store activations
  • Manage customer acquisition and account performance

Customer Experience

  • Deliver excellent in-store customer service
  • Handle customer complaints and escalations professionally
  • Ensure customers understand products, promotions, and services
  • Maintain high engagement on the sales floor

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and develop showroom staff
  • Set clear performance expectations and monitor results
  • Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and leave
  • Conduct coaching and performance feedback sessions
  • Support training and onboarding of new employees

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain store cleanliness and visual merchandising standards
  • Ensure accurate implementation of promotions and displays
  • Conduct daily floor checks and resolve issues promptly
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Financial Management

  • Control operational expenses within budget
  • Manage cash handling, floats, and reconciliations
  • Investigate financial variances and discrepancies

Stock Management

  • Oversee stock receiving, movement, and storage
  • Monitor ageing and obsolete stock
  • Prepare and manage stock takes
  • Minimise shrinkage and stock losses
  • Ensure accurate stock records and reporting

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure policy compliance and audit readiness
  • Maintain accurate documentation and system records
  • Follow governance standards and operational procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification in Retail, Sales, or Marketing (advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years’ retail/sales experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations and performance management
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel and MS Office
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Clear credit and criminal record
