About the Sales Associate Role

The Sales Associate is responsible for converting showroom visitors into customers through effective product demonstrations, customer engagement, and accurate order processing.

You will play a key frontline role in delivering excellent customer experiences while supporting the store team in achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Customer Conversion

  • Engage customers on the showroom floor
  • Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products
  • Demonstrate product features, pricing, and benefits
  • Achieve individual sales and conversion targets
  • Support account openings and order processing

Customer Service

  • Deliver a professional and positive customer experience
  • Guide customers through product selection and purchase journey
  • Handle basic queries and escalate complex issues when needed
  • Build trust through honest and accurate communication

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain strong knowledge of products and promotions
  • Ensure accurate pricing and quoting from official catalogues
  • Stay updated on new products and campaigns

Administration & Order Processing

  • Capture orders, payments, refunds, and customer details accurately
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant
  • Maintain accurate system records for reporting purposes

Stock & Store Standards

  • Assist with stock handling and replenishment
  • Maintain clean, organised, and visually appealing showroom
  • Ensure proper handling of stock to prevent damage
  • Report stock issues or discrepancies

Compliance & Risk Control

  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to cash handling and payment processes
  • Participate in training and development sessions
  • Escalate risks or compliance issues appropriately

Teamwork & Support

  • Work collaboratively with store team members
  • Support promotions, campaigns, and in-store activations
  • Be flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric (required)
  • At least 1 year retail or sales experience
  • Customer-facing experience in a target-driven environment
  • Availability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Homeware retail experience (advantageous)
  • Clear credit and criminal record
