About the Showroom Manager Role

The Showroom Manager is responsible for the full operational and commercial performance of the store. This includes sales growth, team leadership, customer service excellence, stock control, and financial management.

You will lead a retail team and ensure that all showroom activities align with company policies and performance targets.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Commercial Performance

  • Drive showroom sales against targets and budgets
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance
  • Conduct daily briefings and set sales priorities
  • Coach staff on conversion, upselling, and cross-selling
  • Ensure execution of promotions and campaigns
  • Manage account performance and customer acquisition

Customer Experience

  • Deliver a consistent and high-quality customer journey
  • Ensure customers are informed about products and promotions
  • Handle escalated customer issues professionally
  • Maintain strong customer engagement on the sales floor

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and develop showroom staff
  • Set clear performance expectations and monitor results
  • Manage scheduling, attendance, and staffing levels
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance reviews
  • Recognise and reward staff performance

Training & Development

  • Ensure all staff complete onboarding and training
  • Support ongoing skills development and coaching
  • Maintain training records and compliance documentation
  • Promote continuous learning within the team

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain high showroom standards and visual merchandising
  • Conduct daily floor checks and resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Implement audit and operational improvement actions

Financial Management

  • Manage store expenses within budget
  • Oversee cash handling and reconciliation processes
  • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Ensure accurate reporting and documentation

Stock Management

  • Oversee stock receiving, storage, and movement
  • Monitor stock ageing and prevent losses
  • Ensure accurate stock takes and reporting
  • Reduce shrinkage and improve stock accuracy
  • Maintain organised stockroom systems

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure staff comply with policies and system requirements
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and records
  • Follow governance and operational procedures
  • Report maintenance issues and ensure resolution

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification in Retail, Sales, or Marketing (advantageous)
  • Minimum 5+ years retail sales experience
  • Minimum 5+ years team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations and performance management
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel and MS Office)
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Clear credit and criminal record
