About the Sales Associate Role

The Sales Associate is responsible for turning showroom visits into successful sales through product demonstrations, customer engagement, and accurate order processing.

You will play a key frontline role in delivering excellent customer service while supporting store performance targets and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Conversion

  • Engage customers and identify their needs
  • Demonstrate products and explain features, benefits, and pricing
  • Achieve individual sales and conversion targets
  • Support account openings and sales processing

Customer Service

  • Provide a professional and positive shopping experience
  • Guide customers through product selection and purchasing journey
  • Resolve basic queries and escalate complex issues
  • Build trust through ethical and accurate selling

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain strong understanding of products and promotions
  • Ensure accurate pricing and quoting
  • Stay updated on catalogue changes and new campaigns

Order Processing & Administration

  • Capture customer orders, payments, refunds, and credits accurately
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant
  • Maintain accurate records for reporting and audits

Stock & Showroom Standards

  • Assist with stock handling and replenishment
  • Maintain clean, organised, and well-presented showroom
  • Ensure proper handling of stock to avoid damages
  • Report stock discrepancies or risks

Compliance & Risk Control

  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to cash handling and payment processes
  • Participate in training and onboarding sessions
  • Escalate risks or non-compliance issues

Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with store team members
  • Support promotions and campaigns
  • Be flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric (required)
  • At least 1 year retail or sales experience
  • Customer-facing experience in a sales-driven environment
  • Availability for shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Homeware retail experience (advantageous)
  • Clear credit and criminal record
