About the Sales Manager – New Vehicles Role

The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the new vehicle sales department, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the dealership meets and exceeds its sales targets.

This role requires a strong balance of leadership, strategic planning, customer relationship management, and data-driven decision-making within a competitive automotive market.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve new vehicle sales targets
  • Identify market opportunities and customer segments
  • Conduct market research to support sales strategy development
  • Drive dealership growth and market share expansion

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the new vehicle sales team
  • Ensure high performance and continuous skills development
  • Train and onboard new sales staff
  • Monitor team KPIs and enforce accountability

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients
  • Enhance customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty
  • Ensure high-quality customer engagement throughout the sales process

Sales Performance & Reporting

  • Monitor sales metrics and analyse performance trends
  • Prepare reports for senior management
  • Use insights to improve sales effectiveness and efficiency

Marketing & Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing teams on campaigns and promotions
  • Align sales initiatives with dealership objectives
  • Support promotional activities and brand positioning

Compliance & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and automotive regulations
  • Maintain ethical sales practices and governance standards
  • Support operational consistency across all sales processes

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales management (automotive industry preferred)
  • Strong leadership and team management ability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Experience in dealership or automotive retail environment
  • Knowledge of digital sales and online marketing tools
  • Sales certification or professional training (advantageous)
