About the Role
Empact Group Food Solutions is seeking a dedicated and qualified Kitchen Supervisor to oversee the smooth operation of kitchen production at its Windhoek facility. In this role, you will manage daily culinary workflows, ensure consistency across all menu items, monitor inventory, and communicate operational needs directly to the Catering Manager. You will be responsible for enforcing strict portion control, managing unit costs, minimizing food waste, and maintaining precise temperature and cleaning logs.
This is a hands-on culinary leadership role suited to a candidate with strong management skills, proven cooking expertise, and proficiency in inventory management systems such as WorkSmart. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, computer literate, possesses broad knowledge of catering environments (from fine dining to restaurant setups), and takes pride in training, coaching, and developing kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities of a Kitchen Supervisor
Kitchen Production & Quality Control

Oversee the smooth daily operations of kitchen production and meal service.

Maintain strict consistency, presentation, and quality standards for all menu items.

Assist across all food production areas with basic food preparation in accordance with required menu cycles.

Deliver excellent service and ensure all food safety and culinary guidelines are followed.
Cost Management & Inventory Control

Assist with monitoring kitchen inventory, conducting regular stock takes, and communicating stock needs to the Catering Manager.

Handle stock control, ordering, and receiving using system tools like WorkSmart.

Enforce portion control, correct food preparation, and proper storage methods to keep operational costs down.

Analyze and effectively manage all in-unit costs to maximize efficiency.

Record and actively work to minimize food wastage across all production shifts.
Administrative & Operational Compliance

Complete relevant operational paperwork, including food production logs, wastage sheets, and cleaning records.

Maintain accurate food and equipment temperature records as required, reporting any variances immediately.

Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health, safety, and sanitation protocols.
Team Leadership & Support

Support, train, coach, and develop the kitchen team to maintain high performance and skill levels.

Minimum Requirements – Kitchen Supervisor
