Job Responsibilities:

Plan and manage specific project equipment to ensure productivity aligns with project scope.
Schedule and monitor project equipment, manage backlogs, and address labor limitations.
Develop and maintain site maintenance schedules, analyze data from computerized maintenance management systems, and identify trends for improvement.
Initiate the procurement of spares and consumables to ensure availability.
Collaborate with the maintenance systems manager to onboard new machinery and provide site performance data.
Create job cards with job safety analysis to ensure materials, skills, and resources are available in a timely manner.
Identify recurring defects and inefficiencies, analyze them, and assist with resolution.
Provide feedback and input to the site engineering team and procurement department during weekly planning meetings.
Ensure compliance with legal regulations, M&RC, and client standards, policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Supervise the engineering planning team effectively, ensuring alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:
Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.
Mechanical or Electrical Artisan Trade Certificate [S26] or National Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Supervisory Development Program [preferred].
Skills:
Proficient in computerized maintenance systems.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, MS Projects).
Strong interpersonal skills, with a customer service orientation.
Excellent planning, organizing, and analytical skills.
Solution-focused and able to meet deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an artisan or in an Assistant Engineering Planner role in a mining or factory setting.
At least 5 years of experience as a Foreman (advantageous).
Experience in an underground/surface mining environment, particularly in a vertical shaft section or with earth-moving equipment/trackless mining.
Knowledge and experience in remote condition monitoring of equipment.
Experience in developing reports and analyzing data from equipment is advantageous.
