Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate the reception and delivery of employees, equipment, and materials to underground operations.
Manage risks effectively, ensuring compliance with DMR, M&RC, and client standards.
Transmit and exchange correct signals as per operational requirements.
Ensure strict adherence to shaft operating procedures and equipment standards.
Handle sensitive materials with care, following established procedures.
Practice effective self-management and align with Murray & Roberts Cementation’s values and leadership initiatives.
Comply with SHEQ standards, as well as MRC and client safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Onsetter / Banksman Certificate of Competence.
Certificates:
Valid First Aid Certificate.
Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Onsetter/Banksman in a sinking shaft.
