Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and communicate winding engine defects promptly to supervisors or management.
• Plan, install, and maintain electrical equipment in line with best practices.
• Implement and oversee maintenance plans to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Lead and supervise teams in alignment with Murray & Roberts Cementation’s core values and leadership initiatives.
• Engage effectively with key stakeholders.
• Ensure all engineering installations meet agreed-upon standards, procedures, and specifications.
• Maintain and repair engineering equipment to high standards, ensuring long-term operational efficiency.
• Adhere strictly to SHEQ, M&RC, and client safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Focus on cost containment and achieving a high mean time to failure post-repair.
• Foster a motivated, disciplined, and positive work environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.
  • Section 26 Electrical Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade Certificate through a recognized body.
• Certificates:
  • Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Valid Code EB Driver’s License.
• Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in the mining industry, with specific experience in surface and plant environments, preferably within a sinking shaft.
  • Minimum of 5 years of trade experience as an Electrician.
  • Medically fit for underground work.
