Job Purpose:
The Embroidery Machine Operator is responsible for operating an industrial sewing machine to stitch, join, gather, hem, and reinforce materials to complete products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stitch Products: Operate and adjust the embroidery machine according to product style, observing its operation and making necessary adjustments.
- Machine Adjustment: Adjust the machine needle and presser foot to sew parts together, replace sewing machine parts, perform basic maintenance (e.g., oiling the machine), and select appropriate thread colors.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and tidy workstation by applying basic housekeeping principles.
Minimum Requirements:
- NQF3/Grade 11 or Equivalent.
- 6-12 months of experience in sewing.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:
- Understanding of safety principles.
- Basic machine maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of branding processes, fabric, and sewing techniques.
- Familiarity with housekeeping principles, product knowledge, and quality control.
- Ability to interpret job cards and follow instructions.
- English comprehension and communication skills.
- Strong verification and time management skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
