Job Overview:

Your role will be to maintain and optimize mechanical equipment to ensure the Production Department meets its targets efficiently. Key Responsibilities:

• Maximize Machinery Efficiency: Ensure all machinery is available and operating at full capacity to meet production demands.
• Planned Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance and implement improvements to enhance the operational efficiency of all assigned machines.
• Electrical & Mechanical Repairs: Perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Preventative Maintenance: Proactively address potential issues to minimize plant downtime.
• Rewiring & Overhauls: Rewire electrical machinery and overhaul spare/old machinery to ensure backup options are available during breakdowns.
• Refrigeration & Boiler Maintenance: Maintain the NH3 Refrigeration plant and site services, including boiler steam lines.
• Stock Management: Manage stocks of spares and equipment to maintain plant efficiency.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement strategies to maximize plant efficiency and adhere to the company’s health and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Requirements:
  • Matric or equivalent.
  • N3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Electro-mechanics Trade Test.
• Experience:
  • 3+ years of Millwright experience, particularly with fast-moving packaging machines.
  • 3+ years in an FMCG environment.
  • Experience in an Electro-Mechanics environment.
  • Experience with Industrial Ammonia refrigeration plant operations and coal-fired boilers maintenance is advantageous.
  • Competency in Argon welding and knowledge of frequency inverters and Drum motors.
