Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Cosmetic Cashier for their Newcastle store, responsible for providing world-class customer service at the point of sale while ensuring the effective merchandising of cosmetic and beauty products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Prioritize customer transactions at the cosmetic till, maintaining a high standard of care and professional relationships with customers.
- Sales Transactions: Process all forms of payments (cash, cards, vouchers) with attention to accuracy, following Dis-Chem’s verification procedures.
- Merchandising: Assist with cosmetic product displays, ensure accurate pricing and labeling, and maintain a clean, well-organized area.
- Cash Handling: Ensure cash flow is accurate, secure, and deposited into the drop safe according to standard operating procedures.
- Security: Be alert, recognize suspicious behavior, and report any concerns to management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 6 months’ cashier/till operations experience
- Computer Literate (MS Office)
- Sound numerical skills and strong English communication
Competencies:
- Sales Skills: In-depth knowledge of operating cash registers, processing payments, and handling returns/exchanges.
- Customer Service: Friendly, professional communication with customers, and adherence to Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles.
- Merchandising: Ability to maintain displays, ensure accurate pricing, and assist with restocking.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Third additional language (advantageous)
- Knowledge of promotions, sales targets, and product knowledge.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Willing to work retail hours
- South African Citizen with a clear credit and criminal record
- Reliable transport or reside near the store
