Role Overview

As the Manager (Parts), you will hold a key position within our organization, responsible for all aspects of the parts department’s operation. Your primary goal will be to enhance the efficiency and profitability of the parts sales division while ensuring that our customers receive unparalleled service. You will lead a team, manage inventory, oversee sales processes, and drive strategic initiatives that align with TWK Agri’s values and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Comprehensive Department Management:
    • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the parts department. This includes overseeing all services related to parts sales, ensuring that each team member understands their role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining operational standards.
  2. Inventory Control and Management:
    • Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels. Conduct regular audits and counts to maintain accuracy, minimize obsolescence, and prevent stock shortages. Analyze sales trends to forecast inventory needs effectively.
  3. Documentation Oversight:
    • Ensure that all incoming and outgoing documentation related to parts transactions is accurate and compliant with company policies. This includes managing received notes, processing credit notes, and ensuring all documentation is organized for easy access and reference.
  4. Financial Management and Profitability:
    • Monitor profit margins on parts and work collaboratively with the finance team to ensure budget adherence. Develop strategies to enhance profitability, such as identifying new sales opportunities, promotional campaigns, and cost-saving measures.
  5. Store Presentation and Maintenance:
    • Ensure that the parts department is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and organization. Implement merchandising strategies that enhance the visual appeal of the store, making it easy for customers to find and purchase products.
  6. Pricing Management:
    • Maintain accurate pricing for all parts, ensuring that it aligns with market conditions and company policies. Regularly review pricing strategies to remain competitive while maintaining profitability.
  7. Supplier Relations and Order Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with parts suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of products. Manage the ordering process, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained and that all orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  8. Customer Service Excellence:
    • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service within the team. Regularly train staff on best practices for engaging with customers, addressing their needs, and resolving issues promptly. Ensure that customer feedback is solicited and acted upon to enhance service quality.
  9. Collaboration with the Workshop Team:
    • Work closely with the workshop team to ensure a seamless flow of parts and services. This collaboration is crucial for delivering a high level of customer satisfaction and ensuring that service operations run smoothly.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Educational Background:
    • A minimum of Matric/Grade 12 is required. A relevant degree or diploma in a related field will be advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Computer literacy is essential, with proficiency in inventory management software and standard office applications.
  • Experience:
    • Candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience in agricultural parts sales, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with New Holland parts and systems.
  • Sales Acumen:
    • A solid understanding of parts sales, market dynamics, and customer relationship management is crucial for success in this role.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members.
  • Leadership Qualities:
    • The ideal candidate will be dynamic, self-motivated, and able to inspire and lead a team. Strong planning, organization, and analytical skills are required to manage operations effectively.
  • Customer-Centric Approach:
    • A passion for customer service and the ability to create a positive shopping experience for customers is essential.
  • Valid Driver’s License:
    • A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
