The Cleaning Manager (Hospitality) role focuses on delivering high-quality service aligned with site-specific SLAs in the hospitality industry, managing operations, client relationships, and staff performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee and manage site operations, ensuring client requests are handled with urgency.
- Allocate resources to maximize cleaning efficiency, adhering to SLA requirements.
- Manage staff schedules and ensure high service standards are consistently achieved.
- Handle contract retention by maintaining excellent service and strong client relationships.
- Ensure all staff present a professional appearance, uphold company policies, and adhere to cleaning methodologies.
- Perform monthly spot checks on equipment to ensure maintenance and repair as needed.
- Conduct training and on-the-job sessions to empower staff and maintain quality standards.
Communication and Client Relations:
- Conduct regular meetings with clients and complete unit visit checklists.
- Submit reports, including hygiene, inspections, training, and client surveys.
- Communicate company updates effectively to staff and management.
- Address client and management requests promptly and provide actionable responses.
Labour Management:
- Collaborate with HR to allocate and manage staff effectively.
- Oversee time sheet submissions and manage daily HR and industrial relations matters.
- Conduct staff appraisals, identify training needs, and ensure compliance with Tsebo policies.
- Participate in CCMA cases and union meetings when required.
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to OHS Act requirements and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
Financial Management:
- Manage budgets for chemicals, consumables, and other resources.
- Authorize and bill overtime and rechargeable work within deadlines.
- Ensure timely collection of debtors and adherence to capital expenditure approval processes.
- Identify potential for additional business within existing contracts.
General:
- Maintain staff morale and motivation.
- Attend meetings and training as required by Tsebo or clients.
- Represent the TCS brand professionally.
- Keep updated on company policies and implement initiatives effectively.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong client relationship and communication skills.
- Leadership and team management capabilities.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, independently, and adapt to flexible schedules.
- Sound knowledge of cleaning principles, policies, and SLA requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in middle management within the hospitality industry.
- Proven ability to oversee large teams and manage operations efficiently.
- Strong understanding of staffing schedules and task allocation.
- Knowledge of industrial relations and people management principles.
