We are currently seeking a Cleaning Supervisor in the healthcare industry in Cape Town (CBD). The role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring high service standards, and providing leadership to cleaning staff to meet hospital-specific SLAs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations and Service Delivery:
- Ensure work schedules/job cards are in place and relevant to the site.
- Maintain high service standards through regular inspections of the cleaning operations.
- Ensure staff are correctly dressed, displaying name badges, and uphold the company image at all times.
- Adhere to cleaning methodologies, in line with company policies, quality programs, and relevant legislation.
- Perform monthly spot checks on high-value items to ensure equipment is in good condition and serviced when needed.
- Conduct daily checks and follow-ups to ensure service standards are maintained.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the manager in a timely manner.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance.
Communication:
- Respond promptly to management requests and take appropriate actions.
- Regularly update line management on relevant issues relating to the unit.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure that Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act requirements are met, in line with company policies and site-specific needs.
General:
- Maintain high morale and motivation through effective communication and leadership.
- Assist with any duties outside of the job scope as required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of cleaning principles and company policies.
- Excellent people and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Matric/Grade 12 or relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in the cleaning industry, especially within healthcare or hospitality.
- Experience with health and safety standards and management is essential.
