About the Role:

Empact Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join their team. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a commercial environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations, as well as excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring & Maintenance: Oversee all commercial and center critical infrastructure.
  • Planned Maintenance: Perform planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance on infrastructure.
  • HVAC Support: Assist with HVAC electrical reticulation and related electrical work.
  • Design & Troubleshooting: Read and address electrical drawings/schematics and perform fault detection on critical infrastructure.
  • Equipment Installation: Install and commission new plant and electrical systems.
  • Daily Inspections: Conduct daily walkarounds and inspections of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Electrical Control Panels: Perform wiring of electrical control panels.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical support at data centers, performing electrical system configuration and troubleshooting.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor system processes to ensure smooth operations and evaluate heating and cooling systems to ensure they meet equipment temperature conditions.
  • Customer Service: Ensure all electrical requests from clients are attended to promptly and with urgency.
  • Compliance: Comply with working methods to ensure client SLAs and MSAs are achieved.

Education & Experience:

  • N4 – N6 Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Electrical Trade Test (Section 26D or 13).
  • Operating on MV Networks License.
  • Three Phase Wireman’s License.
  • Experience in generator maintenance (advantageous).
  • Experience in UPS maintenance (advantageous).
  • Exposure to Battery Management Systems & HVAC.
  • Licensed and registered with the Department of Labour.

  • Self-motivated with good technical abilities.
  • Effective communication skills: Ability to explain technical processes in simple terms to non-technical staff.
  • Proactive problem solver with rapid assessment and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exhibits professionalism and a high level of patience and tolerance.
  • Responsible for continuous learning and self-development.
  • Quick to respond to critical situations and troubleshoot systems effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
