Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Retail experience as a sales consultant
- Computer literacy
- Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- Experience in cosmetics, fragrances, and/or beauty
Key Responsibilities
- Escalate unresolved or serious customer complaints to the manager.
- Deliver outstanding customer care and service.
- Conduct product demonstrations, makeovers, and promotional activities.
- Manage stock levels and report shortages, damages, and expired items.
- Create attractive merchandising and displays.
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to the store’s income.
- Stay informed on product trends, brands, and the retail industry.
- Coordinate cosmetic, fragrance, and beauty promotions.
- Schedule and manage salon appointments.
- Comply with Dis-Chem’s policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Competencies
Essential:
- Proficient in English (written and oral).
- Strong team player.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to analyze stock reports and meet sales targets.
- Organized and able to follow task schedules.
Advantageous:
- Skills in promotions, personal selling, and customer engagement.
- Knowledge of products and prior sales training.
- Stock management expertise, including rotation and handling expired or damaged items.
- Bilingual proficiency.
