Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Retail experience as a sales consultant
- Computer literate
- Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- Experience in cosmetics, fragrances, and/or beauty
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and escalate serious or unresolved customer complaints to the manager.
- Provide exceptional customer care and service.
- Demonstrate products through makeovers, cosmetic demonstrations, and promotions.
- Manage stock levels, including reporting on shortages, damages, and expired items.
- Ensure attractive merchandising and displays.
- Drive store income by meeting department, brand, and vendor sales targets.
- Stay updated on products, brands, and industry trends.
- Manage cosmetic, fragrance, and beauty promotions.
- Coordinate salon appointments.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Competencies
Essential:
- Strong command of English (verbal and written).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Understanding of stock reports and sales targets/commission calculations.
- Task-oriented and organized.
Advantageous:
- Experience with promotions, personal selling, and customer liaison.
- Product knowledge and prior sales training.
- Skills in stock management, rotation, and reporting.
- Bilingual proficiency.

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
- South African citizenship.
