Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand is seeking a Maintenance Administrator to join their Head Office team. The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate and administer planned maintenance activities across approximately 340 retail outlets. The role includes managing a team of artisans, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring jobs are completed on time. The Maintenance Administrator will also follow up on maintenance requests to ensure timely resolution.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric or Senior Certificate
  • 2-4 years experience in a similar role

Advantageous

  • Diploma in Business Administration

Job Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance work, including procurement of spare parts and equipment
  • Negotiate and enter maintenance contracts, working with the project planning team for new store openings
  • Administer maintenance scheduling, including weekly management meetings and maintenance team meetings
  • Work with Store Management to schedule preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Oversee maintenance work for store items such as safes, entrance mats, and appliances
  • Monitor the progress of maintenance work, ensuring timely completion of requests
  • Reconcile orders with actual purchases to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare documentation for new store openings, closures, and relevant meetings
  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently
  • Monitor supplier invoices and ensure they match with purchase orders in SAP workflow
  • Report on maintenance expenses and provide clear feedback to the Operations Director

Competencies

  • Knowledge of computerised planned maintenance systems
  • Expertise in stock procurement, tendering, and pricing
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • SAP knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and attention to detail
