Bidvest Facilities Management is seeking a qualified and experienced Artisan Plumber to join our operations team in Alice, Eastern Cape on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The purpose of this role is to provide timely and high-quality planned, preventative, and emergency maintenance on all plumbing-related installations and associated systems. This includes ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), health and safety standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Fault Rectification

Perform daily reactive and planned maintenance on plumbing installations and minor building works.

Attend to leakages, blocked drains, and other general plumbing issues.

Conduct scheduled maintenance as well as emergency repairs on plumbing systems.

Identify risks during inspections and report them for timely rectification.
Operational Delivery
-
Execute job cards with proper check-in and check-out procedures in line with company and client requirements.

Provide detailed feedback to the Supervisor and Client after completing work.

Support a full spectrum of hard facilities maintenance services.
Quality and Compliance

Adhere to relevant legislation and regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.

Ensure all work is compliant with ISO 9001 quality standards.

Follow company processes and service specifications during repairs and installations.
Communication and Teamwork

Communicate job progress, risks, or concerns with supervisors and relevant stakeholders.

Collaborate with team members to ensure that objectives and deadlines are met.

Assist with minor building and facilities tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Educational Requirements

N3 to N6 Certificate in Plumbing (Essential)

Plumbing Trade Test Certificate (Compulsory)

Grade 12 or Technical Matric (Advantageous)
Experience and Technical Competencies

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in plumbing equipment maintenance

Experience working with digital control systems, tools, and fixtures

Competency in basic electrical and mechanical repairs related to plumbing systems

Understanding of plumbing-related compliance standards and building codes
Computer Literacy

Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook at an intermediate level
Legal Requirements
