About the Role
Wild Coast Sun, part of the prestigious Sun International Group, is seeking enthusiastic and guest-focused individuals to join our Waterpark operations team as Guest Relations Officers. This is a seasonal opportunity ideal for individuals who are passionate about customer service and enjoy working in a vibrant leisure environment.
As a Guest Relations Officer, you will serve as the first point of contact for our Waterpark guests, ensuring their experience is seamless, enjoyable, and memorable from the moment they arrive. You will handle guest inquiries, manage special requests, and resolve concerns while promoting the facilities and activities of the Waterpark.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service Preparation

Ensure the Waterpark’s appearance and cleanliness meet company standards.

Check the functioning of equipment and ensure systems are operational.

Restock brochures and promotional material as required.

Review daily arrival and VIP guest lists to identify special requirements.
-
Assist in preparing and distributing welcome/VIP amenities.

Stay up to date with all Waterpark facilities, promotions, and activities.
2. Service Execution
-
Greet and acknowledge all guests warmly on arrival and departure.

Provide professional and proactive service, handling inquiries and requests efficiently.

Assist with check-in and escort VIP guests to reserved sections, explaining facilities and amenities.

Answer guest inquiries in person and via telephone at the concierge desk.

Handle guest complaints, providing immediate solutions or escalating when necessary.

Log daily activities to ensure seamless handover between shifts.

Promote and upsell Waterpark services, facilities, and nearby attractions.

Maintain visibility, professionalism, and decorum at all times.
3. Stakeholder Relationship Management
-
Liaise with internal departments to ensure guest requests are fulfilled on time.

Communicate special guest requirements effectively across departments.

Foster positive working relationships to ensure a consistent guest experience.
4. Job Complexity and Problem Solving
-
Plan tasks and responsibilities on a daily/weekly cycle to meet operational needs.

Manage time and resources effectively to ensure objectives are met.

Take initiative within defined authority levels when making guest-related decisions.

Handle guest queries by applying company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
-
Refer complex issues to supervisors or managers for resolution when needed.
Requirements
Education
-
Matric / Grade 12 preferred.
-
Grade 10 with at least 2 years of relevant customer service/hostess experience will also be considered.
Experience
-
At least 2 years’ experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
-
Previous experience in hotels, leisure facilities, or Waterparks is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Knowledge of Waterpark operations and hotel product offerings.
-
Basic PC literacy and Opera system knowledge advantageous.

Customer service orientation with problem-solving ability.
-
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per operational requirements.

Physically fit and able to perform job-related tasks.
