Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Supervisor to join our Cleaning and Hygiene Solutions division in Vereeniging, Gauteng. This permanent role requires a hands-on leader with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest cleaning and hygiene standards.
As the Cleaning Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure service excellence across the site.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management

Prepare and maintain work schedules and job cards for each staff member, ensuring relevance to the site’s needs.

Conduct regular inspections to maintain consistently high service standards.

Enforce strict adherence to approved cleaning methodologies in line with company policies, quality programmes, and current legislation.

Perform daily checks and follow-ups to guarantee operational efficiency.
Staff Supervision and Image

Ensure all cleaning staff are neatly and professionally dressed, wearing name badges at all times to uphold the Tsebo brand image.

Communicate effectively to maintain high morale and motivation within the team.

Provide timely responses to management requests and implement required actions.
Asset and Safety Management

Report maintenance and safety concerns to the manager on a daily basis.

Conduct monthly spot checks on high-value equipment, ensuring that all assets are well maintained, repaired, and serviced as required.

Maintain personal health, hygiene, and professional appearance at all times.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate will bring:

Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar cleaning or facilities management environment.

Practical knowledge of health, hospitality, and safety standards.

Strong attention to detail and a proactive sense of urgency.

Ability to work under pressure, independently, and with flexibility to handle after-hours or weekend requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications

Matric / Grade 12 is required.

Tertiary qualifications in facilities management, hospitality, or a related field will be a strong advantage.
