Overview of the Opportunity
Clicks Group, a leading health and beauty retailer in South Africa, is seeking a Shop Assistant / Cashier to join the team at its Kathu store in the Northern Cape. This permanent position falls within the FMCG, Retail, Wholesale, and Supply Chain category and is an Employment Equity role.
This role is ideal for customer-focused individuals who are passionate about delivering excellent service, managing point-of-sale operations with precision, and ensuring the store’s merchandising standards create a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Exceptional Customer Service

Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring every customer enjoys a friendly, helpful, and professional interaction.

Provide accurate product information by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of products, ranges, promotions, and events.

Make customers aware of in-store promotions to drive sales and ensure they “feel good and pay less.”
2. Efficient Point-of-Sale Operations

Execute all operational activities at the point of sale quickly and accurately.

Scan merchandise, process payments, and manage cash handling in a secure and responsible manner.

Action ClubCard rewards efficiently and assist in enrolling new ClubCard members to achieve participation targets.
3. Merchandising and Housekeeping

Maintain the store’s visual merchandising standards, ensuring shelves are stocked and displays are appealing.

Execute all general housekeeping duties to keep the store neat, clean, and welcoming.
Knowledge and Skills Required

Strong understanding of retail/FMCG operations, including merchandising and promotions.

Familiarity with stock management procedures and customer service excellence.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for accurate payment processing.
