Main Purpose of the Job
The Assistant Store Manager is a pivotal role focused on driving sales excellence and operational precision. You will be responsible for leading the sales team by example, managing high-value inventory, and maintaining the bold visual aesthetic that GALXBOY is known for. From staff training to resolving customer queries, you will ensure the store environment is safe, clean, and optimized for maximum turnover.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Customer Service & Sales Leadership

Target Driven: Lead the team to exceed personal and company targets, focusing on key metrics: Units Per Transaction (UPT), Average Transaction Value (ATV), and Turnover.

Floor Management: Maintain a strong floor presence, supervising operations and allocating team members according to the zoning guide to ensure no customer is left unattended.

Service Excellence: Demonstrate “gold standard” customer service, coaching the team to provide an authentic GALXBOY experience.
2. Visual Merchandising (VM)

Brand Standards: Implement merchandising according to strict brand guidelines and submit weekly VM reports/photos.

Floor Maintenance: Conduct regular VM walks to ensure all products are correctly tagged, steamed, priced, and replenished.

Training: Continuously train the team on visual standards to keep the store looking aesthetically pleasing and ready for trade.
3. Inventory & Risk Control

Stock Processing: Manage same-day processing of all deliveries, including quantity verification, tagging, and system capturing.

Stockroom Integrity: Maintain an organized stockroom to expedite replenishment and ensure stock accuracy.

Loss Prevention: Actively supervise risk control measures and conduct weekly/monthly stock takes to alleviate shrinkage and company losses.
4. Daily Operations Supervision

POS Management: Oversee Point of Sale (POS) operations, including cash-ups, cash drops, and processing refunds or exchanges according to policy.

Compliance: Strictly follow opening and closing procedures, manage staff time and attendance, and ensure general housekeeping standards are met.
Qualification and Skills Requirements
To be considered for this associate-level leadership role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education: Matric Certificate is compulsory. A Bachelor’s degree is considered ideal.

Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a retail managerial role is required.
