Cash in Transit Operations Opportunity at Fidelity Services Group

Fidelity Services Group, through Fidelity Cash Solutions, is seeking disciplined and reliable CIT Crew members to join its George branch in George, Western Cape, on a permanent basis. This mid-senior level role is ideal for security professionals with experience in the cash-in-transit environment who are committed to safety, accuracy, and professional service delivery.

The position plays a vital role in the collection and delivery of clients’ money, ensuring secure handling, accurate documentation, and proof of delivery and collection in line with company procedures and client expectations.


About the Role

The CIT Crew member reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for executing cash-in-transit duties safely and efficiently. This includes collecting, transporting, and delivering cash and valuables, maintaining constant communication with controllers, and responding proactively to potential risks.

The role requires physical fitness, high alertness, integrity, and the ability to perform under pressure while adhering to strict operational and security protocols. Successful candidates will also be expected to train as future Custodians, supporting long-term career development within Fidelity Cash Solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Cash Collection and Delivery Operations

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for collecting and delivering clients’ money, ensuring that all consignments are handled securely and in accordance with approved cash-in-transit procedures. Proof of collection and delivery must be accurately completed and submitted as required.

This responsibility is central to maintaining client trust and operational integrity.


Consignment Handling and Distribution

The role includes receiving, sorting, and distributing cash consignments, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and compliance with internal controls. Attention to detail is critical to prevent errors and ensure correct processing of all consignments.


Operational Communication and Reporting

CIT Crew members must maintain constant radio contact with controllers throughout transit operations. Any delays, incidents, or irregularities must be reported immediately to the Branch Manager to ensure timely intervention and risk mitigation.

Clear and effective communication is essential to operational safety and coordination.


Security Awareness and Incident Prevention

The position requires a high level of situational awareness, with responsibility for identifying and responding to suspicious activity. Preventative actions must be taken where necessary, and all incidents must be reported accurately in line with company procedures.

Incident prevention and reporting form a critical part of maintaining safe and compliant CIT operations.


Training and Operational Readiness

The role includes ongoing training with the expectation that successful candidates will be developed as future Custodians. Willingness to work overtime, travel when required, and adapt to operational demands is essential.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Clear criminal record

  • PSIRA accreditation with a minimum Grade C qualification

  • Valid Cash in Transit (CIT) certificate

  • Firearm competency with at least handgun qualification for business purposes

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the security industry or a similar role

  • Clear disciplinary record

  • Physically fit and in good health

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Valid driver’s license – advantageous
