Cash in Transit Operations Leadership Opportunity at Fidelity Services Group

Fidelity Services Group, through Fidelity Cash Solutions, is seeking a reliable and experienced Team Leader to join its Cash in Transit (CIT) operations in George, Western Cape, on a permanent basis. This mid-to-senior level role is suited to a disciplined security professional with strong operational awareness, leadership ability, and experience within the cash-in-transit or security environment.

The position plays a key role in supporting the Operations Manager and ensuring that all CIT activities are executed safely, professionally, and in line with planned procedures, schedules, and compliance requirements.


About the Role

The Team Leader is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operational management of Cash in Transit services, ensuring that all movements, security procedures, and team activities comply with company standards and risk management protocols.

This role requires hands-on involvement in operations, including vehicle responsibility, team coordination, security awareness, reporting, and client liaison. The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, respond decisively to risk, and maintain high levels of discipline and professionalism at all times.


Key Responsibilities

Cash in Transit Operational Support

The successful candidate will assist with daily CIT operational requirements, ensuring that all scheduled movements are executed safely and in accordance with approved procedures. This includes supporting the Operations Manager in coordinating activities and ensuring operational continuity.

The Team Leader must ensure that CIT schedules are managed securely during transit and that all deviations or delays are escalated immediately.


Vehicle Accountability and Safety

The role includes taking full responsibility for the CIT vehicle, including reporting mechanical faults, ensuring refuelling is completed, operating onboard security systems, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness.

Accident prevention is a critical responsibility, with prompt reporting of incidents and adherence to all safety and operational protocols.


Security Awareness and Risk Management

The Team Leader is responsible for maintaining a high level of security awareness, conducting security drills, and taking preventative action against any reported or observed suspicious activity.

Ongoing risk assessment, compliance with security procedures, and adherence to company policies form a central part of this role.


Team Coordination and Communication

The role requires maintaining continuous communication with controllers, management, clients, and team members. The Team Leader must ensure clear instructions, effective coordination, and professional conduct across all interactions.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential to ensure teamwork, accountability, and effective service delivery.


Reporting and Administration

The Team Leader is responsible for completing all required documentation and administrative duties, including daily rosters, operational reports, and incident documentation.

All delays, incidents, or operational challenges must be reported to the Operations Manager without delay to ensure swift corrective action.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Clear criminal record

  • PSIRA accreditation with a minimum Grade C qualification

  • Valid Cash in Transit (CIT) certificate

  • Firearm competency with at least handgun qualification for business purposes

  • Computer literacy (compulsory)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the security industry or a similar role

  • CIT management or supervisory experience – advantageous

  • Valid driver’s license – advantageous

  • Own transport – advantageous

  • Clear disciplinary record

  • Ability to work under pressure and irregular hours
