Position Overview: Senior Cashier Job in Richards Bay
Dis-Chem is currently recruiting a skilled and experienced Senior Cashier for its store in Richards Bay. This role is ideal for candidates with solid cashier experience who are ready to take on more responsibility in a fast-paced retail environment.
As a Senior Cashier, you will ensure accurate transaction processing, cash handling, and exceptional customer service, while maintaining strict compliance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all customer transactions accurately using the Dis-Chem system
- Handle multiple payment methods (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons)
- Maintain strict control of cash flow and daily takings
- Deliver professional and friendly customer service
- Handle returns, refunds, and exchanges as per company policies
- Promote loyalty programmes (Discovery, Momentum, eBucks, etc.)
- Ensure all items are scanned and paid for before leaving the store
- Monitor and report suspicious activities
- Stay informed about promotions and product offerings
- Ensure compliance with Dis-Chem security and operational standards
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum 3 years’ cashier/till operations experience
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Strong numerical skills
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
- Basic customer service experience
- Willingness to work retail hours (including weekends and holidays)
