Position Overview
The Cashier plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service by handling transactions efficiently and ensuring a smooth front-counter experience. This role is ideal for candidates interested in retail jobs, cashier vacancies, and customer service careers in Cape Town.
You will be the face of the brand, ensuring customers receive friendly, accurate, and professional service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer orders and payments accurately
- Operate POS systems and resolve basic technical issues
- Handle cash, card, and digital payments responsibly
- Issue receipts and manage refunds or exchanges
- Promote specials and upsell products to customers
- Manage queues to ensure fast and efficient service
- Address customer queries and resolve minor complaints
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation at the counter
- Balance cash and submit end-of-shift reports
- Safeguard company assets and minimise losses
Minimum Requirements
- Previous cashier or retail experience (preferred)
- Strong numeracy and cash-handling skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and under pressure
