Position Overview
The Prepper (Kitchen Assistant) plays a vital role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting the cooking team. This entry-level restaurant job is perfect for candidates looking to build a career in the fast food, hospitality, or kitchen operations sector.
This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment and is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients including cutting, marinating, portioning, and weighing
- Follow standard recipes and food preparation procedures
- Ensure proper storage and labelling of all food items
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen prep areas and equipment
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management
- Assist grillers and cooks when required
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation duties
- Support waste reduction and cost-saving initiatives
- Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations
Minimum Requirements
- Basic kitchen or food preparation experience (advantageous)
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends and shifts
