Position Overview

Pedros is currently seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join its Distribution Centre in Polokwane. The successful candidate will oversee daily production operations, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and lead a production team in achieving efficiency, quality, and output targets.

This role is ideal for an experienced production professional with strong leadership abilities and hands-on knowledge of poultry processing, food safety, and production scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

As a Production Supervisor, your duties will include:

  • Overseeing and coordinating all production activities within the facility
  • Ensuring production meets quality, quantity, and safety standards
  • Supervising production staff and maintaining a motivated, high-performing team
  • Scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, and monitoring workforce performance
  • Implementing strict quality control measures to ensure product consistency
  • Conducting routine inspections to prevent contamination or defects
  • Enforcing health and safety regulations across the production environment
  • Reporting and addressing safety incidents promptly and effectively
  • Managing inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production flow
  • Coordinating stock replenishment and raw material availability
  • Ensuring production equipment is maintained and operational
  • Scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Monitoring production targets and KPIs for efficiency improvement

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must have:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Diploma or equivalent qualification (advantageous)
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of poultry processing and food production systems
  • Understanding of food safety and quality control standards
  • Familiarity with production equipment and maintenance processes
  • Experience in inventory management and production scheduling
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in manufacturing environments
