Position Overview

Faircape is currently hiring an Assistant Carer Supervisor for its Tokai Estate facility. This role is ideal for experienced caregivers or healthcare professionals with supervisory experience who are passionate about elderly care and team leadership.

You will support the Carer Supervisor in managing the care team, ensuring residents receive the highest quality of care, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. Key Responsibilities

Team Supervision & Coordination

  • Supervise and coordinate the carer team across allocated areas
  • Ensure carers follow care plans and complete daily charting accurately
  • Monitor adherence to policies and escalate non-compliance

Patient Care & Support

  • Assist carers with care tasks, exercises, and resident support
  • Ensure prompt response to call/panic systems
  • Monitor changes in residents’ conditions and report concerns

Staff Support & Development

  • Address staff queries and provide guidance
  • Identify training needs and escalate to management
  • Support team performance and continuous improvement

Administration & Reporting

  • Submit daily handover reports
  • Document incidents and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure proper distribution and storage of equipment

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Conduct weekly spot checks on rooms and equipment
  • Ensure infection control procedures are followed
  • Monitor stock levels (e.g., nappies, toiletries)
  • Ensure grooming standards are maintained and documented

Minimum Requirements

Education & Qualifications

  • Grade 10 – 12
  • Recognised carer qualification (advantageous)

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience working as a carer (advantageous)
  • Strong administrative and computer skills
  • Knowledge of:
    • Dementia care
    • Palliative care
    • Rehabilitative care
    • Manual handling techniques
    • Fall prevention practices

Working Hours

  • 16.25 shifts per month (rostered Monday to Sunday)
  • Shift hours: 06:30 – 18:30
