Position Overview
Faircape is currently recruiting a Waiter (Temporary – Maternity Cover) for its Tokai Estate facility in the Southern Suburbs. This role is ideal for experienced hospitality professionals who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service in a high-end environment.
You will be responsible for ensuring residents and guests receive professional, efficient, and friendly service at all times. This opportunity is perfect for candidates looking for waiter jobs in Cape Town, temporary hospitality jobs, or restaurant service roles in retirement estates.
Key Responsibilities
- Set tables according to required standards and ensure all items are clean and in good condition
- Change table linen and manage clean/dirty linen exchanges
- Clean and refill condiments and service items
- Maintain hygiene standards in all designated service areas
- Provide detailed knowledge of menu items and make recommendations to residents
- Serve food and beverages professionally and efficiently
- Deliver excellent customer service and handle guest requests courteously
- Address customer complaints and escalate to management when necessary
- Assist with stock control, audits, and reporting discrepancies
- Restock bar inventory and service supplies regularly
- Ensure accurate billing and report any discrepancies
- Maintain high personal hygiene and grooming standards
- Assist with private events and additional duties when required
Minimum Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven experience as a waiter in a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Barista experience (advantageous)
- Knowledge of serving etiquette and basic wine knowledge

Working Hours
