Position Overview
Dis-Chem is seeking a Frontline Supervisor to oversee cashier operations and ensure smooth customer service at till points. The role acts as a link between management and cashiers, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with store procedures.
This position is critical in maintaining a fast, accurate, and fraud-free checkout environment.
Key Responsibilities
🧾 Cashier & POS Supervision
- Supervise cashier operations and daily till point activities
- Ensure accurate transaction processing (cash, card, vouchers, etc.)
- Manage floats, shortages, and overages
- Authorise voids, refunds, and overrides
🛒 Customer Service Excellence
- Handle customer complaints and compliments
- Ensure smooth queue flow and reduced waiting times
- Maintain high standards of customer interaction
📊 Compliance & Accuracy Control
- Monitor POS discrepancies and investigate issues
- Ensure proper documentation and transaction verification
- Enforce zero-tolerance accuracy standards
👥 Team Support & Training
- Assist in training new cashiers
- Support and supervise frontline staff
- Maintain discipline and operational consistency
Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum 2 years cashier experience
- At least 6 months shadowing cashier supervisor
- Strong numerical skills
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Willing to work retail hours
Advantageous
- 1 year supervisory experience
- SAP system knowledge
- Certificate in computer literacy
- Retail operations experience
