Position Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is currently seeking a Health Merchandiser for their Fourways Mall store in Sandton. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about retail, customer service, and maintaining high merchandising standards within a fast-paced retail environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that store shelves are fully stocked, well-organised, and visually appealing while maintaining excellent customer service standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities
As a Health Merchandiser, your duties will include:
Stock Control & Merchandising
- Restocking merchandise according to store requirements
- Ensuring stock from the storeroom is correctly packed and stored
- Maintaining full product availability on shelves at all times
- Ensuring First-In-First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation is followed
- Assisting with stock counts and general stocktaking
Store Presentation & Display
- Ensuring shelves are neat, organised, and properly labelled
- Building and maintaining merchandising displays according to standards
- Keeping product pricing and labelling accurate and visible
- Maintaining cleanliness and order of display areas and stockrooms
Customer Service
- Assisting customers with product queries
- Providing friendly, helpful, and efficient service
- Resolving customer stock-related queries professionally
Operational Support
- Assisting with back shopping and stock movement
- Reporting low stock, expired stock, or damaged goods
- Supporting general store operations when required
Minimum Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Up to 6 months retail experience
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Health-related field
- At least 1 year retail experience
Skills & Competencies

- Strong communication skills in English
- Professional and presentable appearance
- Good customer service ability
- Honesty, reliability, and trustworthiness
- Strong time management skills
Advantageous Skills
- Bilingual communication ability
- Knowledge of FMCG and retail merchandising standards
- Basic product and category knowledge
- Experience using retail systems such as SAP or Unisolv
- Ability to interpret stock reports and merchandising data
Work Conditions & Requirements
- Must be willing to work flexible retail hours (including weekends and holidays)
- Physically fit to lift, move, and handle stock
- Must reside close to or have reliable transport to Fourways Mall
- South African citizen
- Clear credit and criminal record required
