Position Overview
ADvTECH is seeking a Locum Educator (Intersen Phase) for Trinityhouse Glenvista Preparatory School on a 9-month contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education, supporting learner development, and maintaining strong academic standards in a flexible and engaging learning environment.
This role is ideal for qualified educators seeking temporary teaching positions, private school teaching jobs, or intermediate phase education roles in Johannesburg South.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
- Deliver engaging, future-focused lessons aligned with curriculum requirements
- Inspire, motivate, and challenge learners academically
- Develop learners’ foundational and independent learning skills
Assessment & Reporting
- Conduct formal and informal assessments
- Provide accurate academic reporting and feedback
- Track learner progress and performance
Student Behaviour Management
- Maintain positive classroom discipline and behaviour standards
- Support learner wellbeing and development
Professional & School Representation
- Act as a brand ambassador for the school
- Build positive relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues
- Communicate professionally and respectfully at all times
Administration & Compliance
- Complete academic and administrative duties accurately
- Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures
- Support health and safety requirements
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Undergraduate Degree (NQF Level 6)
- PGCE or B.Ed (Intermediate / Senior / Intersen Phase)
- SACE Registration (mandatory)
Experience
- 2–5 years teaching experience
- Experience in intermediate or preparatory phase preferred
Additional Requirements
- Police clearance certificate
- First Aid certification
- Computer and digital literacy
