Position Overview: Occupational Health Assistant – VKB Head Office
VKB Group is seeking a dedicated Occupational Health Assistant to support its Occupational Health services team.
This role involves providing clinical, administrative, and logistical support for occupational health services, including medical screening, equipment maintenance, and field-based operations.
It is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare support roles and occupational health environments.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Screening Support
- Assist with audiometry, vision (Keystone), and spirometry testing
- Support Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (OHNP) during medical examinations
- Capture and update medical records accurately
Equipment & Logistics
- Manage and maintain occupational health equipment
- Ensure calibration and functionality of all medical tools
- Assist with biological waste management processes
Vehicle & Field Operations
- Drive and maintain the Occupational Health vehicle
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and coordinate servicing
- Travel to client sites for occupational health services
Administrative Support
- Assist with reporting and data capturing
- Manage stock control, stock takes, and medical supplies
- Maintain confidentiality of all medical records
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Valid driver’s licence (Code B or higher)
- Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to undergo training in audiometry, vision, and spirometry testing
- Experience in healthcare or occupational health environment (advantageous)
- Experience in medical screening or field-based work (advantageous)
