Job Overview

Cashbuild is seeking a Sales Coordinator to drive sales growth through customer engagement, quotation preparation, plan reading, and efficient delivery coordination. The role also ensures strong customer service, store standards, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Quotations

  • Prepare and issue accurate customer quotations
  • Read and interpret building plans to generate correct pricing
  • Follow up on quotations to convert them into sales
  • Manage special orders and quotation processes
  • Handle customer telephone queries and ensure timely follow-ups
  • Conduct competitor analysis to ensure competitive pricing and offerings
  • Promote loyalty programmes including VIC and charge card customers
  • Communicate bulk deposit transfers to customers

Delivery Management

  • Coordinate efficient and cost-effective delivery services
  • Ensure deliveries are dispatched within required timeframes
  • Communicate delays to customers and agree on alternative arrangements
  • Ensure correct delivery rates are applied and charged

Customer Service

  • Manage customer service desk operations effectively
  • Handle customer complaints, record issues, and ensure resolution
  • Ensure all customers are attended to promptly and professionally
  • Maintain professional telephone etiquette at all times

Store Operations and Standards

  • Implement and maintain Ready for Business standards
  • Ensure pricing changes match advertised and system pricing
  • Ensure correct implementation of planograms
  • Maintain housekeeping and merchandising standards in the store

People Management

  • Ensure General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers are present and performing duties
  • Ensure staff have trained backups available
  • Monitor execution of daily duties and compliance with store standards
  • Ensure adherence to Ready for Business and operational procedures

Safety and Security

  • Ensure compliance with OHSA safety standards
  • Ensure proper use of protective clothing and equipment by staff
  • Monitor security risks and report suspicious activity
  • Maintain password and system security standards

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • 5 years relevant experience OR 10 years retail/building materials experience
  • Plan reading experience advantageous
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Computer literate
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organisational, planning, and coordination skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
