Position Overview
The Sales Team Leader (RC Online) is responsible for leading and managing a team of Student Advisors to drive student enrolment growth for online programmes.
This role combines sales leadership, coaching, performance management, and student engagement, with a strong focus on achieving enrolment targets and improving customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Student Acquisition
- Lead and manage a team of Student Advisors
- Drive student enrolment growth across RC Online programmes
- Monitor sales performance, trends, and conversion rates
- Ensure advisors meet or exceed individual and team targets
- Conduct prospective student consultations (approx. 20% of role)
Student Experience & Service Excellence
- Promote a student-centred sales and service culture
- Monitor customer satisfaction (CSAT) and improve service delivery
- Implement feedback systems to enhance student experience
- Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs)
- Resolve escalations and improve response times
Training & Team Development
- Provide ongoing coaching and training to Student Advisors
- Identify skills gaps and implement development plans
- Support onboarding of new sales staff
- Run performance improvement initiatives
- Build a high-performance, motivated sales team
Performance Management & Reporting
- Track and analyse sales performance data
- Use CRM and analytics tools to guide decision-making
- Monitor call performance and conversion efficiency
- Report on team productivity and enrolment outcomes
Operational Efficiency & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor call handling quality and reduce abandonment rates
- Maintain compliance with student data protection policies
- Improve sales processes through automation and best practices
Team Culture & Engagement
- Implement recognition and reward programmes
- Lead team-building initiatives
- Foster a positive and performance-driven culture
- Support staff retention and engagement strategies
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Marketing, Sales, or related field
OR - Certificate in Sales (minimum requirement)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Sales (advantageous)
Experience
- 3–5 years sales experience in a target-driven environment
- 1–2 years supervisory or team leadership experience
- Experience in education, call centre, or student recruitment (advantageous)
