This role is based at Kia Diep River, part of the Motus dealership network in Cape Town, focusing on vehicle finance and insurance services within a high-performance retail automotive environment.
Position Overview
The Finance and Insurance (F&I) Manager is responsible for managing vehicle finance applications and selling approved insurance and value-added products within the dealership.
The role is highly customer-focused and compliance-driven, aiming to maximise profitability while ensuring full adherence to FSB/FSCA regulatory requirements and financial legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Insurance Sales
- Structure and process vehicle finance applications for customers
- Sell approved value-added products (insurance, warranties, etc.)
- Conduct financial needs analysis for clients
- Maximise dealership gross profit through F&I products
Customer Service & Advisory
- Provide professional financial advice to customers
- Educate customers on finance and insurance product options
- Improve customer retention through service excellence
- Build strong relationships with dealership clients
Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Ensure full compliance with NCA, FAIS, FICA, CRA regulations
- Maintain “fit and proper” requirements under financial legislation
- Work within dealership and financial service provider policies
- Maintain up-to-date CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points
- Ensure ethical conduct and high integrity in all transactions
Operational & Administrative Duties
- Manage and maintain the F&I debtor’s book
- Record and report all financial transactions accurately
- Support dealership operations with finance-related processes
- Ensure timely submission of documentation and reports
Sales Performance & Business Growth
- Deliver on monthly and annual sales targets
- Increase dealership finance penetration rates
- Contribute to overall dealership profitability
- Support growth of customer base through product offerings
Minimum Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant Diploma (advantageous)
- Credit Management Diploma (advantageous)
- Regulatory Examination (RE) certification
- FAIS accreditation (FSB/FSP recognised)
- Short-Term Insurance or Retail Insurance qualification (minimum 120 credits)
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in:
- Automotive F&I environment OR
- Banking / financial services sales role
Licensing & Compliance
- Valid driver’s license
- Accredited by a Financial Services Provider (FSP)
- Eligible to perform NCA-related functions
